Regina Darylnn Simmons, age 60, entered life on May 8, 1956 to the late Winnie Ruth (Chink) Webb. Regina grew up in Murfreesboro, TN, which she had a bountiful childhood, and beautiful life. An angel came and carried her unto the bosom of Jesus on August 30, 2016.
Regina loved the Lord and accepted all mankind that loved the Lord as well. She also, posed a special love for her M.T.S.U. staff.
Regina was called into the ministry under the care of Reverend John C. Lee, Jr. at Stones River Primitive Baptist Church located on 700 County Farm Road, Murfreesboro, TN in the late 1980’s. One of her quotes was, “I’m trying to be about My Father’s Business”. Later in her spiritual life she became Evangelist Regina Simmons.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bobby Ray Simmons; son, Quincy James; loving parents, Joseph (Popa Joe) Webb and Winnie (Chink) Webb, and brother, Mitchell Zachary.
Regina was called lovingly, affectionately called “Darylnn”, Aunt Darylnn, and Big Momma.
She leaves to mourn of her departure son, Jesse James Sr. (J.J.); daughter, Chaka James; grandchildren, Marquis James, Damonte’, Da’Mya Moss, Jasmine James, Jesse Jr, and Jada; and great-grandson, LaMontay Woods; sisters, Melba, Arleeda, Cynthia (Charles), Robyn (Raymond), Marsha, and Ava (Tommy); brothers, Kenny (Frances), Kevin (LeeAnn), Keith (Teresia), Rodney, Terrance, Daryl (Donna), Joey, and D’Morris; a bouquet of beautiful nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Viewing for Regina Simmons will be Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Rucker Memorial Chapel from 10:00am to 12:00pm with the funeral to follow at 12:00pm. Bishop Christopher A. Johnson, Sr. is the Eulogist and Minister Daryl Webb will be Officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
