Mrs. Ida Lee Alexander was born July 21, 1924 to the late Mary E. Batey and Charles Lillard. She departed this life on March 6, 2017 at home in the mist of her family.
Mrs. Ida professed her hope in Christ at an early age, becoming a member at St. Paul Primitive Baptist Church in Lavergne, TN. She received her formal education in the Rutherford County School System. She was employed by Dr. Murfree for many, many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. MC Alexander and her only son Willie Lee Hughes, her mother and father Mary E. Batey and Charles Lillard; brothers and sisters: Branius Richardson, John Lillard, Charles Lillard Jr., Margaret Foster, Josie Lillard, Ada May Matlock, Lizzie Bell Brocks, and Mary Blair. She leaves to cherish her memories one sister Mary F. Batts, one brother-in-law Paul Brooks, one sister-in-law Ocydean Richardson; 6 grandchildren Darryl Saffo, Sheila Saffo, William Saffo, Byrus Hughes, Antonio Green, and Alex Green; 8 great-grand children, and 2 great-great grand children; a host of nieces and nephews; relatives and friends to include her devoted friends the Murfree family.
Visitation will be Monday, March 13, 2017 at Freedom of Worship Outreach Church from 12 to 1 p.m. with services to follow at 1 p.m. with Minister Sheila Saffo as the Eulogist and Pastor Ann Cross Officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
