THE LIFE OF LORELL BROWN BRANDON
October, 1921 = January, 2014
Lorell Brown Brandon was born in Woodbury, Tennessee on October 19, 1921 to George Brown, Sr. and Willie D. Alexander Brown, who predeceased her. She departed this life on January 27, 2014.
Lorell professed her hope in Christ at an early age. She was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Readyville, Tennessee and she also attended Water Street Church of Christ, Woodbury, Tennessee. Lorell was united in holy matrimony on July 18, 1939 with Gilbert Richardson Brandon, Sr., who predeceased her after over 55 years of marriage and they were the proud parents of one daughter, Betty Sue Wade, who predeceased her and five sons, Gilbert Brandon, Jr., Clarence Edward Brandon, LeRoy Brandon, Ronnie Burney, and Larry Douglas Brandon.
Lorell is survived by her loving sons, Gilbert Brandon, Jr., (Alice), Clarence Edward Brandon, (Margurite), LeRoy Brandon, (Fiancée’ Barbara Fisher), Larry Douglas Brandon (Katherine), Ronnie Burney (Felicia) and a devoted son-in-law Charles Wade (Betty, deceased) and grandchildren, Andrea Brandon, Rodney Brandon, LaKisha Brandon, LeMarshall Burney, TaJuana Burney Haynes, Kesha Burney, Demond Brandon, Pamela Denise Brandon Watson, and Larry Douglas Brandon, II.
Lorell is survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Lorell is also survived by brothers Charles Brown and Thomas Brown (Carolyn) and sisters Katherine Ezell, Margaret Dillard and Dora Johnson.
Lorell enjoyed gardening, cooking and quilting. She raised laying hens and proudly sold her brown eggs until her health caused her to leave the farm. Lorell loved her family and she made every sacrifice, along with her husband, to provide for her family. Lorell was a strong woman and she was respectfully referred to as “boss woman” by some members of her family. Her love was the fuel that enabled her children to do the impossible.

Lorell will lie-in-state Friday, January 31, 2014 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rucker Memorial Chapel 1505 Bradyville Pike, Murfreesboro, TN 37130. Family visitation will be Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon with the funeral to follow at 12 noon at Rucker Memorial Chapel. Pastor Wayne Rogers will be the Eulogist. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
